SEASON 16
“Season 16” is Berenika Czarnota’s latest collection, which consists of multicolored hats made of soft cotton. These beautiful headwear are sure to delight the brand’s loyal customers and fans. The collection reflects a unique lifestyle associated with the beach and the sun, carrying subtle references to the aesthetics of the 1960s, harmoniously combining modernity with the spirit of the time.
Each hat was handmade on crochet, drawing inspiration from the surf culture and the charming town of Biarritz. It was there, in the 1960s, that European surfing was born. This unique atmosphere from the past became the main inspiration for the variety of hat shapes in the collection. Berenice was also fascinated by the style of the women she met during her stay in Biarritz – they wore simple, airy dresses to the beach, always complemented by a distinctive headdress such as a kerchief or hat.
The photos of this latest collection were taken by Olga Urbanek, and the session took place in Berlin. For a long time we searched for suitable locations that would reflect the holiday character of the collection, without necessarily being directly associated with Berlin. Equally important was the play of light and the way it fell at different times of the day. The session also took place in one of Berlin’s laundries, where huge red washing machines provided a subversive backdrop for the photographs. Despite the fact that knits, especially those made with crochet, are always washed by hand, the choice of the laundry as the location for the shoot added originality and contrast.
Berenika Czarnota’s new collection, “Season 16,” is a collection of unique handmade masterpieces created by Polish knitters. This collection dazzles with a multitude of colors and extraordinary precision of workmanship. Berenika Czarnota continues her artistic journey, creating beauty from yarn and giving it a unique character.”
